Landmark Alantra acted as financial advisor to the shareholders of Lecherias Loncomilla in the sale of 100% of the company to Empresas Carozzi for a total of US$ 43 million.
The acquisition will allow Carozzi to consolidate its position in the market and complement its current offer in the ice cream segment, in which -through Bresler- it participates in the traditional channel (immediate consumption) and supermarkets. For its part, San Francisco is mainly present in the supermarket channel with premium desserts and ice creams.
Carozzi is one of the main mass consumption companies in the region, with 124 years of history and a presence in 25 food categories. In its portfolio it has centuries-old brands such as Carozzi, Costa and Selecta, and develops its activities in Chile, Peru and Argentina, as well as commercial offices in Paraguay and the United States and exports to more than 50 countries in the world. To this is added his trajectory in agriculture, where he works collaboratively with more than 5,000 farmers, in around 70 thousand hectares, thus contributing to the agricultural development of the country.
Founded in 1975 in San Javier, Maule Region, Lecherías Loncomilla, with its San Francisco de Loncomilla brand, was the pioneer -and current leader in Chile- in the premium dessert and ice cream segment, combining a unique artisan tradition and the best quality natural ingredients. Today there are more than 250 people who collaborate with San Francisco Loncomilla so its more than 80 products are accompanying the lives of Chileans every day.
